New Sounds

Having grown up listening to John Schaefer on WNYC, getting to work as an assistant producer on this show, and his station was a dream come true. I would work to find new music for the nightly radio show and assemble his commentary along with the pieces. During my time at New Sounds, we also experimented with online appointment listening programs, and I produced many episodes of Hanna Benn's The Glittering Door and Lora-Faye Åshuvud's Odd Theory, exploring extended techniques and queering of everyday sounds. In my time at the station, I worked to re-design the format and style of New Sounds Live in Studio performances, producing a handful of them as well, with artists such as Ava Rocha, Monsieur Periné, and Tigue.

Hit Play

With Julia Melfi, I created the first Neo-Futurist podcast the week after we temporarily shuttered our theater in March of 2020. Hoping to continue our unceasing way of making relevant art, each episode features a set of new Neo-Futurist audio experiments generated from our deeply personal reflections on the present moment. While we have returned to performing live once more, this show developed a beautiful life of its own and a devoted following of listeners, so it continues as my most consistent and rewarding artistic output. As producer/sound designer, I write pieces and contribute to many more each month. I polish each segment of the show with musical scoring and intricate soundscaping to thread all of the pieces together. The show has been called a “treasure chest” by the New York Times, and with over 80 episodes, we have created over 350 audio experiments, with more coming every other week. Listen wherever you get your podcasts!

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival’s Macbeth

Directed by Raz Golden, this full-length audio drama took the classic story of Macbeth, heightening the witchy, surreal world of the play, bringing it into an audio format, and weaving together modern materials and techniques with quintessential tools of radio and stage. I composed new music, developed soundscapes, performed foley, and crafted unique sound effects throughout the two-hour radio piece. It was presented online and in classrooms as a hopefully new way to experience this well-known work.

Tanked!

This is the first show I built from scratch! Working as the technical manager at The Tank - a theater and home to emerging artists and experimental work in New York - I thought a podcast would be a great way for our audiences to learn more about our artists and the work we produce. The show featured The Tank’s artistic directors comically talking about the goings-on at the theater and then jumping into an interview with the creators of upcoming co-productions. Guests have included associate artists, resident directors, and a couple Tony Award winners. In addition to the main section of the podcast, I produce a segment called "Collin's Corner" with our operations manager to discuss his unique view of the theater as well as dive into some heavily sound designed stories that balance on the boundary between truth and fiction.

I am the Senior Editor and Engineer with The Podcast Shop, an audio production company focused on promoting feminist media and exciting discussion.
I am the editing producer & contributor on the show Dungeons and Drama Nerds, a podcast exploring the intersection of tabletop roleplaying games and theater.
